Upon
graduation from UTP Gamelan Group where we had our formal teaching in gamelan,
we had lost our source to start to be together with something that we hold
dearly during our young days. This is until one of the founding members
gathered all the graduated members for the very first event in 2010.
The first original intent is for the group to keep
performing, playing, and indulging ourselves with gamelan. This group of people
were called Ensemble in G, ensemble of people that stands together because of
G, the gamelan.
From that initial set up, Ensemble in G (EiG) was being
invited by Tronoh Theatre Shop (TTS) and The Qum Actors (TQA) to perform and
provide background music for theatre performance named TTS TQA Bangsawan Tuah
Hang Jebat in 2010. Becoming part of TTS TQA theatre is a first step that
gave us confidence and at the same asses our capability, passion and where are
our headings in the gamelan, the one that we held and hold dear to.

From that point of time,by understanding the limitations that
we had, we then decided to be the affiliate of Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts
Centre, or commonly known as klpac. Hence,
klpac become our second home and our
centre in Kuala Lumpur.
Soon after that, we were given the trust for our first
corporate event, with the national oil company, PETRONAS in September 2011. It
is an opportunity and trust that we will never let go. Trust is all we need to
perform the best, beyond the expectation.

Despite young and short existence as EiG, our actual
involvement tallies back to our past experience in UTP Gamelan Group. EiG
consists of alumni from UTP Gamelan Group or also known Sanggar Kirana, where
during our involvement with UTP Gamelan had performed in numerous events
starting from the establishment of UTP Gamelan Group in 2002 until to date.
Getting involved in this, we believe that we are doing our
share, to preserve the gamelan legacy not only from our Gamelan UTP but also
from those who initially handed down tradition of this magnificent instrument.
Alhamdulillah, we are currently busy preparing ourselves for
